New Aesthetics Regulations
Important Update: New Rules for Anti-Wrinkle Treatments from 1st June 2025
From 1st June, new government regulations are coming into effect in the aesthetics industry, and I want to keep you fully informed on how this will affect your treatments at Mayfair Renew Aesthetics.
Under these new rules, every client receiving anti-wrinkle injections must now have a face to face consultation with a nurse prescriber before each treatment, even if you’ve booked with me before.
Why is this happening?
The government is developing a new licensing scheme to ensure that all practitioners meet a minimum standard of training and competence.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Current Situation up until now:
In the UK, anyone, including medically trained and non-medically trained individuals, can offer non-surgical cosmetic treatments. This has led to a lack of regulation and inconsistent standards in the industry.
New licensing scheme:
A new licensing scheme is being introduced to address public safety concerns and ensure all practitioners meet a minimum standard of training and competence.
Minimum Standard of Training:
The new licensing scheme will require all practitioners, including medical professionals and non-medical professionals, to demonstrate that they meet a new minimum standard of training, education, and skill competence.
Possible additional training:
Non-medics may be required to undergo additional training or obtain qualifications to meet the new standards.
The new regulations will also establish consistent requirements for premises where procedures are performed, regardless of whether they are medical clinics or beauty salons.
What this means for you
If you’re booking in for anti-wrinkle injections, this is a prescription that is ordered just for you and your treatment. I’ll now be arranging a quick face-to-face consultation with my nurse prescriber for you as part of your appointment.
This is to ensure everything is prescribed safely, correctly, and in line with the new guidance. It doesn’t mean longer or more complicated appointments, it just means everything is even more thorough, professional and in line with the new aesthetic regulations.
You can feel confident knowing you're in safe hands. My qualifications and professional certifications are fully up to date and are proudly displayed on the clinic wall for you to see. Mayfair Renew Aesthetics has always been & always will be compliant with the Aesthetic rules & regulations.
I’ve worked in beauty and aesthetics since 1992, my reputation will always reflect the high standards and integrity required.
If you have any questions or need advice, just drop me a message or call the clinic. I’m always happy to help.
Thank you for trusting me with your skin and your confidence.
